Drinking ginger water is a way of life. My Aunt Inka Alasade always recommended drinking a cup of hot ginger tea to soothe my sore throat when I caught a cold. It was a great recommendation not only for a sore throat, but for a number of reasons. Ginger is a root that fights ovarian cancer cells, improves blood circulation, and relieves an upset stomach just to name a few. I used to have stomach aches as a kid so my mom always kept ginger ale in the house. Actually, she always drank ginger ale, but it was a staple in her household and still is to this day. So, if you have an upset stomach drink ginger ale or an even healthier option to cut sugar would be to cut up pieces of ginger, boil in water, let it steep and then drink.
